We Must Do Our Part
9. We Must Do Our Part.
Psalm 37:3-6
3 Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
5 Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
6 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Here in our text today we are given some strong essentials in how we are to live. There are some basics that strongly encouraged and then promises that spring forth from obedience.
God’s Promises:
1. Safety and Prosperity. (v.3)
2. Our heart’s desires (v.4)
3. His help. (v.5)
4. He validates our life with a stamp of approval (v.6)
We can live safely and prosper, and God will give us our very heart’s desires, and help us. We will radiate and we will be vindicated for all to see.
Our Part:
1. Trust (v.3) (v.5)
We are encouraged to trust twice in our passage. Trusting God means when circumstances re
difficult and not ideal, we continue to look to him through all of life’s hardships. We simply
expect our heavenly Father be with us through it all. Leading, guiding, encouraging and carrying
us through each day.
2. Do good (v3)
Do good wherever we find ourselves, and serve the way Jesus would serve.
3. Live (v.3)
Live the way every child of God should live, actively, boldly, and a full life.
4. Delight (v.4)
Delighting in the Lord is basically means to keep company with God. Dwelling in the very presence of our heavenly Father is a delight.
5. Commit (v.5)
We are commit everything to him and when we do these things we are doing them because we commit to our heavenly Father.
