Picking Up and Moving Forward 2

Isaiah 58:9b-11
9b“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.
Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!
10 Feed the hungry,
and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
11 The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

Yesterday, we talked about the first to clues from our passage.

Clue #1. Find freedom (9).

Clue #2. Don’t blame others (9).

Clue #3. Find someone worse off than you and help them (10).
Why does God encourage us to do this? Because it changes our outlook, our emotions, and our personal value. When we help others, we feel good about ourselves. When we see the struggles of others, it allows us to see our own life with a different perspective.

Clue #4. Experience the transformation of darkness into light (10).
A Christmas Carol
Moving forward takes one step at a time. We find freedom in Christ, we take responsibility, help others and experience the transformation that serving brings.

These are four very powerful clues in moving forward. As we live these out, our prospective will continue to change and healing will take place.

Triple D: Helping others is such an incredible experience and transforms us just like it did Ebenezer Scrooge. Are you currently involved in helping others? Consider taking steps to do this
in some way whether through an organized program, or on your own in your day to day life."
