Hard Work Sowing and Reaping
Hard Work as It Relates Sowing and Reaping
Galatians 6:7-9
7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those
who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But
those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of
doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
I do realize that is direct and addresses the negative as well as the positive. Some might even say it is a
little harsh. While it might be a little tough, sometimes the truth is hard to hear.
Some like to believe that our faith is simply believing in Jesus and then everything in life falls into place.
Philippians 2:5-11
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
We must remember that sincere faith is not easy nor cheap. Now here is the thing, we never, never earn
our salvation. It is a gift. We work hard because we love God and we want to bring him glory.
Now there is a huge benefit to working hard and it is found in the principle of sowing and reaping. You
harvest what you plant.
So many times different Fit.Church members have contacted me discouraged from their lack of progress.
What do I say? Are you on track with your eating plan? Are you active? And if both answers are yes, then
I say, “You keep doing what you're doing and it will work out in the end. You can’t eat right and work out
and not lose some fat and gain some muscle. It isn’t about the number on a scale it is about becoming
healthy.”
Sowing and reaping!
Triple D: What have you been sowing? Sow the right things and you will reap the right things.
