Look to Mountain, Seeking Hope

Pastor Ken is sharing from Psalm 121...

Psalm 121

A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.

1 I look up to the mountains—

does my help come from there?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth!

3 He will not let you stumble;

the one who watches over you will not slumber.

4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel

never slumbers or sleeps.

5 The Lord himself watches over you!

The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.

6 The sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon at night.

7 The Lord keeps you from all harm

and watches over your life.

8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,

both now and forever.

The Darkest Valley, Be Comforted

Austin is sharing today from Psalm 23...

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

3he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

for his name’s sake.

4Even though I walk

through the darkest valley,(23:4 Or the valley of the shadow of death)

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

6Surely your goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

Devotional Deep Dive:

Today take the time to read this Psalm aloud to yourself, and let the words wash over you in comfort.

Even when busy, Be Still

Pastor Ken is sharing today from Psalm 46...

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength,

always ready to help in times of trouble.

2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come

and the mountains crumble into the sea.

3 Let the oceans roar and foam.

Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

4 A river brings joy to the city of our God,

the sacred home of the Most High.

5 God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.

From the very break of day, God will protect it.

6 The nations are in chaos,

and their kingdoms crumble!

God’s voice thunders,

and the earth melts!

7 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;

the God of Israel[b] is our fortress.

8 Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:

See how he brings destruction upon the world.

9 He causes wars to end throughout the earth.

He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;

he burns the shields with fire.

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!

I will be honored by every nation.

I will be honored throughout the world.”

11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;

the God of Israel is our fortress.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Today as you are out in the busyness of life, remember that is when you are inundated the most that you can "Be still and know that I am God."

He Leads to Restoration

Austin is sharing today about God leading us to restoration...

Micah 2:12-13

“I will surely gather all of you, Jacob;

I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.

I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,

like a flock in its pasture;

the place will throng with people.

13 The One who breaks open the way will go up before them;

they will break through the gate and go out.

Their King will pass through before them,

the Lord at their head.”

The Daily, Chronic Pain

Pastor Ken is sharing today about Chronic Pain...

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Examine your own life and your own chronic pain. Has it limited your living? Is there a reason it should? If there isn’t anything that can be done about it, will you agree to “inwardly” grow? Shouldn’t this be our response to every painful situation in life? We may outwardly really struggle through divorce, adultery, or other sinful situations that destroy relationships in our lives. But when those tragic circumstances arise, we need to press inwardly toward God and experience inward growth which can work its’ way from the inside out.

Consider what your action could and should be?

Unrelenting Grace

Austin is sharing about a hard truth we need to hear sometimes.

Ephesians 2:7-10 MSG

“Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”

Take it on The Chin

Austin is sharing about a hard truth we need to hear sometimes.

2 Timothy 2:2-7

When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did. A soldier on duty doesn’t get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders. An athlete who refuses to play by the rules will never get anywhere. It’s the diligent farmer who gets the produce. Think it over. God will make it all plain.

Our Mandate to March

Austin is sharing about our mandate to march.

1 Chronicles 18:5-6

When the Arameans from Damascus came to the aid of Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand of them. David set up a puppet government in Aram-Damascus. The Arameans became subjects of David and were forced to bring tribute. God gave victory to David wherever he marched.

We Live In a Legacy of Conquerors

Austin is sharing about our calling to Conquer.

Joshua 12:1-5+

1These are the kings that the People of Israel defeated and whose land they took on the east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, with the whole eastern side of the Arabah Valley.

2-3Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned from Heshbon: His rule extended from Aroer, which sits at the edge of the Arnon Gorge, from the middle of the gorge and over half of Gilead to the Gorge of the Jabbok River, which is the border of the Ammonites. His rule included the eastern Arabah Valley from the Sea of Kinnereth to the Arabah Sea (the Salt Sea), eastward toward Beth Jeshimoth and southward to the slopes of Pisgah.

4-5And Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaim who reigned from Ashtaroth and Edrei: His rule extended from Mount Hermon and Salecah over the whole of Bashan to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites (the other half of Gilead) to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

Bold and Free

Austin is sharing about Faith while in the world.

1 John 5:13-14

My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening.

Bringing the World to its Knees

Austin is sharing about Faith while in the world.

1 John 5:4-5

Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.

Devotional Deep Dive:

In your prayer time today, focus on faith, expressing your faith in God, and seeking his strength to see that faith in action.

Trading Your Pain

Austin is sharing about how we need to use an exchange within prayer for our pain...

Isaiah 61:3

To all who mourn in Israel,

he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,

a joyous blessing instead of mourning,

festive praise instead of despair.

In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks

that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Take the time you need to this morning to bring your pain, fears and faults to the Lord.

Give God the time he needs to bring about the renewal of your heart and life.

Suffering through the Storms

Pastor Ken is sharing today about suffering through the storms of life...

Matthew 14:22-32

22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. 23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.

24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning[b]Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”

27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”

28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”

29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.

So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”

32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Remember that Jesus not only came to the disciples walking through the storms but he also comes walking to us in our personal storms. Are you in a life storm, allow Jesus to comfort you today. Share with the rest of us how you are weathering your storm...

The Way We Honor

Austin is sharing today about the desire to honor God in our journey.

Colossians 1: 9-10

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Spend time today with God seeking wisdom, seeking knowledge, and seeking to honor Him with your actions.

Our Expectations Must Change

Austin is sharing today about expectations after God's redemption.

Ruth 4:11-12

Then all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said, ‘We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman, who is coming into your house, like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you prosper in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem; and my your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of the children that the Lord will give you by this young woman.’

Devotional Deep Dive:

Declare on Facebook today: “I accept your redemption God, and I will walk closer to you each day.”

God Redeems

Austin is sharing today about God’s redemption.

Ruth 4:1

Meanwhile Boaz went up to the town gate and sat there. When the kinsman-redeemer he had mentioned came along, Boaz said, “Come over here, my friend, and sit down.” So he went over and sat down.

Devotional Deep Dive:

Take time to pray today, professing to God your trust to Him for the redemption of your story.

From Empty to Full

Pastor Ken is sharing today about moving from emptiness to fullness...

Ruth Chapter 3:16-18

16When Ruth came to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, "How did it go, my daughter?"

Then she told her everything Boaz had done for her 17and added, "He gave me these six measures of barley, saying, 'Don't go back to your mother-in-law empty-handed.' "

18 Then Naomi said, "Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today."

Devotional Deep Dive:

Take a few moments and surrender to God the areas of your life that are hindering you from embracing not only your health journey but your life journey.
